These are the best manga fights of all time. By fist, blade, or drill, there’s something enthralling about a good fight in a manga.

Levi Vs Zeke (Attack On Titan)

7 Of Best Manga Fights In Manga History As Of 2020 (1)

Let’s start things on one of the most best manga fights we’ve ever read, Attack On Titan. This series is all about the futility of war and the struggle to survive against immeasurable odds. It can be inspiring, crushingly depressing, and incredibly hype all in the same episode, which is no small feat. And, Clash of the Titans of the manga is a notch with characters like Mikasa and Levi getting most of the “budget” on their fights alone. In particular, the systematic and bloodthirsty approach and confrontation between Levi and the Beast Titan is just so well-animated. The way Levi takes away his faculties one by one is so terrifying and you can understand why Zeke has such a complex about the guy.

Midoriya Vs. Todoroki (My Hero Academia)

7 Of Best Manga Fights In Manga History As Of 2020 (2)

This fight has never been out of my top 10 manga battles. The showdown between Midoriya Izuku and Todoroki Shoto shows how great a shonen manga fight can be. Built-up over the first half of the series’ second season, their fight for their beliefs on what it means to be a hero culminates in a clash of powers, unlike anything the series has brought to the table before. Limbs are shattered and the arena is decimated as Midoriya launches blast after blast using One For All, while Todoroki creates literal mountains of ice and torrents of flame to counter him.

By the end, both have put their ideas of what it means to be a hero to the test, and the world is irrevocably changed by the birth of two new legendary heroes.

Meruem vs. Netero (Hunter x Hunter)

7 Of Best Manga Fights In Manga History As Of 2020 (3)

Hunter x Hunter is the story of Gon Freecss, a teen who decides to train as a Hunter. These elite explorers, sworn to protect humanity, have to pass an exam put in place by the Hunter Association. It’s not Gon, but the leader of this association that’s involved in the show’s most mind-blowing brawl. Chairman Netero’s battle with Meruem, the main antagonist of the Chimera Ants arc, became an instant classic.

The power levels of both characters are on full display here. Over a thousand punches are exchanged during this cosmic dogfight, which only comes to an end when Netero suicide bombs his adversary.

Goku Vs. Jiren (Dragon Ball Super)

7 Of Best Manga Fights In Manga History As Of 2020 (4)

With the return of Dragon Ball in the 2010s, it was only a matter of time before Goku ran into another immovable object. This time around, it was none other than Jiren, a monstrously powerful being from Universe 11. In the Tournament of Power, Goku took it upon himself to defeat Jiren and save his universe from erasure.

In doing so, he not only bore the fate of the universe on his shoulders but also gained even greater power in Ultra Instinct. Once again, there was great emotional weight behind Goku’s fight against Jiren, and the animation was spectacular as well. Some of Toei’s biggest stars, such as Naotoshi Shida, Yong-ce Tu, and Naoki Tate made sure to burn this fight in our eyes, and we’re sure that it’ll be there forever.

Luffy Vs Usopp

7 Of Best Manga Fights In Manga History As Of 2020 (5)

This isn’t what most people think of when they think of great One Piece fights, but in my opinion, it trumps them all by being a perfect example of “I can do anything” vs “I know, that’s why I’ve thought of EVERYTHING”. In other words, what the Batman and Superman fight in Dawn of Justice SHOULD have been. You’d think this would be a short fight. But then, if you do think that, then you must be new to the fandom. Usopp is a genius, and he knows that the best way to fight Luffy is to keep your distance, keep him running, and never let up. It’s no surprise that Luffy wins, taking Usopp down with one punch. But if you watch the episodes this fight encompasses, you clearly see that no one won this fight.

Jotaro vs Dio (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)

7 Of Best Manga Fights In Manga History As Of 2020 (6)

A confrontation generations in the making, Jotaro’s battle with the stand-equipped vampire Dio is one for the ages. Armed with world-breaking powers and an even distribution of Deus Ex Machina, both combatants throw chaotic attacks at one another in rapid succession. For every rain of punches delivered by Jotaro’s Star Platinum, Dio’s The World matches it with a barrage of time altered blows of his own. For every steam roller hurled by Dio with the intent of crushing Jotaro into nothing, Jotaro returns it with the discovery of his own split-second dashes through halted time to survive.

It’s zany, nonsensical, and more than a little reliant on happenstance, but it’s a blast to watch through to the end all the same.

Ichigo Vs Aizen (Bleach)

7 Of Best Manga Fights In Manga History As Of 2020 (7)

Among the many foes Ichigo Kurosaki faces during his tenure as a Soul Reaper, Sōsuke Aizen is by far the most cunning and dangerous. As such, it’s no surprise that the two’s final confrontation is charged with all of the anger and malice that has built up between the two over the course of their relationship, and with the fate of the world on the line no less.

That does it for the best manga fights! Which ones are your favorites? Let us know in the comments down below!
